Taiwan, Myanmar to promote digital education in rural areas

On June 1, the representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Myanmar, Li Chao-Cheng (李朝成) attended the signing ceremony that Taiwan Digital Opportunity Center (TDOC) and Minthuwun Foundation of Myanmar that jointly established a computer center in Kungyangon to promote digital education in rural areas. Representative Li also exchanged disease prevention experiences for combating Covid-19 with the Foundation.

 

Taiwan established the first Taiwan Digital Opportunity Center in Yangon in 2015 and later worked with different institutions of education, information, community, and charity to set up more than 10 digital opportunity centers in Myanmar, promoting computer applications, hardware assembly, teaching training, information security, and other empowerment courses to curtail the digital gap.
