Taiwan-Hong Kong Office to provide necessary assistance for Hong Kong citizens
The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) announced July 1 that MAC Chairman Chen Ming-tong (陳明通) and Katherine Chang (張小月), chairwoman of the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Cooperation Council, jointly unveiled the new unit’s plaque at a ceremony in Taipei, marking a milestone in the government’s support for Hong Kongers in their pursuit for democracy and freedom.
The MAC announced again that the "Taiwan-Hong Kong Services and Exchanges Office" is aimed to help Hong Kongers who plan to study, work, invest, start a business or settle in Taiwan. It would also aid Hong Kongers whose security and freedom are at risk due to political factors on a case-by-case basis and attract Hong Kongers to come to Taiwan to expand their businesses in Taiwan.
The MAC emphasized that the government will continue to give the biggest support to the "Taiwan-Hong Kong Services and Exchanges Office" to provide better services for Hong Kongers.
