Job fair schedule for June announced
The June job fair schedule has been announced by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), which advised job seekers to take advantage of the opportunities.
“On the occasion of the country’s 116th Independence Day Anniversary commemoration, we are announcing our full job fair schedule for June so that job seekers and employers alike will have ample time to prepare,” Secretary of Labor and Employment Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said in a news release.
“The PESO-sponsored Independence Day job fairs schedules are posted at the Phil-Jobnet website, www.phil-job.net, for the benefit of job seekers. The site is hosted by the DOLE’s Bureau of Local Employment,” she said.
According to a report released in January 2014 by the International Labor Organisation (ILO), the Philippines has the highest unemployment rate for the year 2013, among the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean).
Although recent figures from the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) showed that there has been a decrease in the unemployment rate in April 2014 compared to the corresponding period last year, the rate remained very high at 7.0 percent.
