Indonesian Officers to Taipei visits Penghu migrant workers to show care and concern
Last year, the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei launched its mobile service car to Penghu, receiving a warm welcome from migrant workers living in Penghu. This year, Penghu County Government invited the Indonesian Office to visit again.
Penghu County Government said it provided more than 80 migrant workers with the passport renewal service. Due to the fact that many migrant workers were unable to renew their passports this time, Ms. Purwanti Uta Djara, Director of the Labor Department of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei promised to come to Penghu again next time for this matter. Director of the Social Affairs Department, Chen Bao-duan (陳寶緞) also expressed his gratitude for Indonesian migrant workers and the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office for their contributions.
Penghu County Government said this service is aimed to help migrant workers save time and money to renew their passports and live in peace in Penghu. The county government also promised the passport renewal service will be carried out more smoothly next time.
