Cultural Affairs Department director Lin Kuan-yu sees “Frozen” with new immigrant families
Cultural Affairs Department director Lin Kuan-yu saw the movie with new immigrant families on August 6. There was the quiz contest holding for this activity, leaving the disadvantaged new immigrant families the unforgettable memories of summer vocation.
Lin noted that the disadvantaged new immigrant families seldom have the chances to watch movies at the theaters. Thus, it holds the guided reading activity of summer vocation to assist the new immigrant children to finish their school works and moreover, it releases the free summer theater to broadcast thirteen numbers of “Frozen.” Lin asked these children the meaning behind the “Frozen.” They just tried to answer him cheerfully. Some children even stated they can speak English. “You claimed you can speak English, let me ask you how to greet me in English?”Lin asked them. “Who are you?” a kid answered which made everyone laugh.
Lin noted that New Taipei City Library has lunched the guided reading activities since November 19, 2013 which attracted more than six thousand people to join them. It aims to let children’s parents do not need to worry about their children in summer vocation.
