According to Inga Lam, she was raised in Hong Kong and is partly Taiwanese. Following her high school graduation, she traveled to study in the United States. It was her desire to introduce Asian food that came from the realization throughout her studies that Americans understood very little about Asian cuisine. Following her graduation from college, Inga Lam worked as a producer for food programs, handling duties such as filming, gathering materials, and editing. She later shifted to self-media throughout the pandemic and rose to prominence.

Taiwan is like home, Inga Lam claimed in the video. She adores Taiwan for its culture, natural beauty, personal touch, and cuisine; of all of these things, the night market embodies Taiwan's traditions and the genuineness and hospitality of its people the most.

As Inga Lam noted, eating Taiwanese food not only fills her up and makes her happy, but it also reveals the commitment of Taiwanese people to their cuisine. She thinks she can encourage more international visitors to Taiwan by using this video.
