To increase the vaccination rate of people residing in remote areas and protect the health of residents in Lishan (梨山), the Taichung City Brigade, National Immigration Agency (Taichung City Second Service Center), and the Health Bureau, Taichung City Government collaborate with other another to set up a vaccination station in Lishan Health Center.
To overcome language barriers, the Commander of Taichung City Second Service Center - Lin Hong En (林宏恩) led colleagues with expertise in Southeast Asian languages (Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and English) to provide assistance at the vaccination site.
The vaccination services provided in Lishan also adopt four principles, including “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, and “won’t be banned”. Nearly 400 migrants made their vaccination appointments and over 1,000 people have gotten vaccinated during the days.
To further promote the effectiveness of the program in Lishan, foreign nationals who originally did not possess any identity documents were able to be vaccinated with the assistance of NIA.
