For the first time, the Education Bureau of Taichung City (台中市教育局) and the Overseas Chinese English Education Foundation (僑英文教基金會) jointly organized the "2021 Taichung X All America" (2021台中X全美) E-Around Overseas Volunteer English Service Camp (海外志工英語服務營), with the theme of "American City Story" (美國城市故事) and planned the camp for August 4 to 6 and August 11 to 13. The online summer camps will take place in two levels, each with a three-day period. Through the Internet and with young volunteers from abroad, one can see the city sceneries of the United States, can interact with each other to improve their English listening and speaking skills, and build a bridge for education exchange between Taiwan and the United States.

The Education Bureau of Taichung City stated that in recent years, it has been intensively promoting English education and encouraging teachers to engage in bilingual teaching. In addition to inviting volunteer parents to provide morning English stories every week, it also organizes activities such as the Spelling Bee (單字王) contest and short English skits and other activities to cultivate students’ ability to use English in daily life. In cooperation with foreign teachers and teaching assistants of the National Education Administration (國教署), there will be 115 foreign English teachers, who will be assigned to nearly 200 middle and elementary schools throughout the city to efficiently strive for learning quality for teachers and students even with limited resources.

In addition, through their use of English teaching workshops, English world tour leadership camps, and bilingual education camps, the Education Bureau of Taichung City hopes that these two levels of online summer camp courses can provide a different kind of learning and foreign cultural experience for Taichung students.
