Taiwanese athletes are active on the international stage, and they do Taiwan proud in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that just ended recently. When they are not in the spotlight, they are still practicing diligently, participating in various competitions and enjoying the pride on their accomplishments.

Taiwan's Chan Shih-chang (詹世昌) sealed a gripping last-hole victory in the Blue Canyon Phuket Championship in Thailand. In Taiwan, he ranks fourth and his world ranking has risen from 1366 to 427.

Affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, the golf’s Asian Tour has been postponed for nearly two years and returned in November 2021 and held in Phuket, Thailand. According to the Professional Golfer’s Association of Taiwan, Chan has won one championship and five runners-up in the 2021 Taiwan Tour, and this is his third Asian Tour win, after bagging two titles in 2016.

Chan sealed a gripping last-hole victory with a shot clear of Kim Joo-hyung from South Korea and Sadom Kaewkanjana from Thailand. “I was so surprised and ecstatic when I got the championship,” Chan said. In the future, he plans to join more competitions after returning to Taiwan.
