[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] During the Chinese New Year period, every household or company will carry out general cleaning. The Ministry of Labor reminds employers with foreign care workers that they can only let the care workers do related care work. Do not assign migrant workers to do "unauthorized work" such as cleaning, otherwise they will be punished. A fine of 30,000 to 150,000 NTD will be imposed for violating the "Employment Service Law", and employers are urged to abide by the law.
The Ministry of Labor pointed out that Taiwan adopts a permit system for hiring foreigners, so the scope of labor services provided by migrant workers is limited to the work content of the employment permit letter, and foreign family care workers can only "engage in the daily care of the care receiver at home."
If the employer assigns a caregiver to clean, take care of children, go to the store to assist in the operation, or "lend" the hired foreign caregiver to relatives and friends for "work outside the permit", regardless of whether the migrant worker is "voluntary" or in "leisure time" Helping out is a violation of Article 57, paragraph 3 of the Employment Service Law, "assigning employed foreigners to engage in unlicensed work", and a fine of 30,000 to 150,000 NTD will be imposed.
The Ministry of Labor also added that if there are no changes within the time limit, the recruitment permit and employment permit of the employer will be revoked; in addition, if the employer illegally accommodates foreigners who "do not have a personal work permit" to work, they will also be punished according to the "Employment Permit". Article 44 of the Service Law stipulates a fine of 150,000 to 750,000 NTD.
