When ordering meals in Taiwan, it is normal to pick your own side dishes. 40-year-old Japanese author currently residing in Taiwan Kinoshita Junichi（在台日本作家木下諄一） shared his views on living in Taiwan on his YouTube channel 超級爺爺SuperG. He talks about the flexibility of choosing the side dishes for bento meals and said Japan can't beat the convenience of Taiwan.

Why is Japan not so flexible? Kinoshita Junichi(在台日本作家木下諄一) believes that Japanese people do not accept all customer request because it is inconvenient and inefficient. He stated that service in Taiwan is more flexible and user-friendly but still very efficient as compared to the "strict" ways of the Japanese. Kinoshita Junichi(在台日本作家木下諄一) says that Taiwan's flexibility is one of the things he loves about living in Taiwan and also one of the reasons why he chose to stay here.
