To implement inclusive finance and meet the needs of migrant workers, Chunghwa Post has launched the "Indonesia Small Amount Secure Remittance" service starting today. Migrant workers can visit post offices that handle international remittance services to set up their remittance details. After that, they can remit money in US dollars through the Online Post Office or the Mobile Post Office APP. The entire process, from currency exchange to remittance, can be completed online, making it legal, safe, and convenient.
To coincide with the launch of this new service, from now until December 31, 2024, Chunghwa Post is offering an "Indonesia Small Amount Secure Remittance 5+1" fee discount promotion. During the promotion period, eligible users can enjoy a discounted remittance fee of NT$168 per transaction, and for every five successful remittances, the next remittance will be free of charge. To coincide with the launch of the new service, from now until December 31, 2024, Chunghwa Post is offering an "Indonesia Small Amount Secure Remittance 5+1" fee discount promotion. Chunghwa Post stated that according to the Ministry of Labor's statistics, as of the end of May 2024, the number of foreign migrant workers in Taiwan has exceeded 770,000. These workers are engaged in various industries and caregiving jobs, making them an indispensable part of Taiwan's productivity. Chunghwa Post understands that migrant workers in Taiwan often face difficulties in visiting banks for remittances due to work and time constraints or high bank fees, which leads them to use underground remittance services. This not only increases the risk of being scammed but also poses a potential money laundering risk. In the future, Chunghwa Post will continue to expand remittance services for migrant workers from other countries, showing care for all communities and ensuring that all customers enjoy convenient and secure financial services equally, thereby fulfilling the goal of inclusive finance.
