Hong Kong immigrant shares her journey in getting married & falling in love with Taiwan

Having 16-year work experience in the banking industry, she is a counter officer who serves customers. Reminisced about her marriage, Chen met her Taiwanese husband while traveling in Taiwan. Back then, they could not meet each other as they were having a long-distance relationship. Keeping in touch via communication apps for four years, they decided to get married and reside in Hsinchu to build a family.

When Chen got married in Taiwan, she still cared about her mom living in Hong Kong a lot. A video phone call could not help her reduce homesickness. However, she kept a habit of texting her mom every day and made her feel reassured.

In terms of relationships, she believes that the most important way to keep “love” fresh is to trust and communicate with each other. Lastly, she would like to encourage immigrants who have just arrived in Taiwan to step out of their comfort zones bravely, and you will find the beauty of Taiwan.
