According to the Ministry of Culture, Taiwanese designer John Zucca Cheng (鄭佳弘) was the only non-Italian of four featured rising designers invited to the AltaRoma Fashion Week, which took place in Italy from February 2 to 5.
Cheng presented his fall/winter collection, "FutureSkin," under the brand name John Zucca, with models dressed in his designs. The N1 compilation CD by Taiwanese Indigenous singer-songwriter ABAO was played throughout the fashion presentation.

The goal of the "FutureSkin" collection, according to Cheng, is to portray the concept of liberation from patriarchy, gender bias, and hierarchy. Frank Gehry, a modern architect, and designer whose innovative and sculptural creations have earned him international acclaim, was his inspiration.
Cheng's clothing ensembles for this show combine architectural principles with textile designs, using deconstructivism and Taiwanese cultural themes.
For this collection, he also supports sustainability, reflecting environmental sustainability by using discarded clothes and repurposed materials in his works.
The Ministry of Culture will keep working to help local brands break into the international market and to encourage more designers to participate in fashion shows and exchange with fashion circles in Italy, resulting in more collaborative projects and a deeper understanding of Taiwan's fashion industry.
