The NIA Chiayi City Service Center currently held an activity. A new immigrant (申婷頡) from China who works in cultural and creative industry, was invited to teach everyone to create Zentangle paintings together and achieve meditation via painting in addition to assisting participants in understanding the most recent laws and policies.

The new immigrant (申婷頡) was from Changsha, Hunan, met her spouse as a result of her studies into the art design of online games, and the two fell in love. She moved to Chiayi after getting married and kept producing illustrations, picture books, and other works with Taiwanese influences. She wrote the fairy tale (稻草人吉爾奇遇歷險記), which was awarded by the NIA for the 7th Dream-Building Project for New Immigrants and Their Children to arrange storytelling tours. 100 copies of the book were printed and distributed to children in rural schools and children of new immigrants.

According to her, Zentangle painting is a method for unwinding. Zen and Tangle are symbols for meditation and art, respectively. Painting can enhance a creator's participation in and confidence in art, as well as the willingness to appreciate others, both of which are beneficial for "deconstruction" the relations within the family. The participating new immigrants are asked to outline their zodiac signs on paper using the "Bauhinia" flower which is the city flower of Chiayi as an accessory, and to then fill the outline with different Zentangle designs that represent people from all over the world living in Chiayi City.
