The 2021 Singapore Chinese Film Festival has started.
According to SUSS, the festival is Co-organized by SUSS and Singapore Film Society. This year's Singapore Chinese Film Festival (SCFF2021) will feature 45 films including a specially curated Debut Classics segment, and two "live" online panel discussions. SCFF2021 will feature a mix of physical and online screenings, and English subtitles are provided for almost all of the films.
Admission to both online panel discussions is FREE.

This year, the festival includes many Taiwanese films, such as The Good Daughter and Sounds of Taiwan: A Symphony. The Good Daughter, a documentary filmed by Wu Yu-Ing. The film tells a Vietnamese foreign bride’s struggle in Taiwan. Sounds of Taiwan: A Symphony is directed by Bao Yuankai, it is a documentary tracing the creation of a symphonic piece built on a collection of local sounds. And a short film There by Wu Yu-Fen is also included.
Moreover, on May 9, 15:30p.m., there will be an online lecture “DEBUT CLASSICS: GENERATION 1960'S.” The speakers include Chen Yu-hsun, Hsiao Ya-chuan and Chiang Hsiu-Chiung. The three Taiwanese directors will share the challenges they shared when they filmed their debut film.
