To protect the natural environment of forests, and livestock industry in Taiwan, as well as encourage foreign nationals (including undocumented migrant workers, overstayers) to get vaccinated, the Taitung Brigade of National Immigration Agency (NIA) collaborated with the Forestry Bureau Taitung Forest District Office (行政院農業委員會林務局臺東林區管理處) to hold “A journey to Jhihben, Happy New Year” at the Jhihben National Forest Recreation Area (知本國家森林遊樂區).

In the form of rewarded responses and distribution of publicity, publicity to prevent the indiscriminate deforestation of precious forests, prevent the invasion of African swine fever and call on overstayers to be vaccinated as soon as possible.

During the activities, the concept of preventing deforestation and invasion of African Swine Fever (ASF), as well as getting vaccinated.

Taitung Brigade and mascots of Forestry Bureau Taitung Forest District Office delivered the message of “Deforestation Prevention & Protec Environments” to visitors and foreign nationals. Besides, Taitung Brigade also appealed to the public not to purchase meat products from a questionable origin of places from overseas to Taiwan.

In addition, NIA has been promoting the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program” to encourage foreign nationals, including undocumented migrant workers and overstayers to receive free vaccination. The program adopts four principles, “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, “won’t be banned”. It is hoped that the public can get vaccinated soon and protect themselves and others.

Huang Zhi Ming (黃志明), the commander of the Taitung County Brigade, stated that the public must pay attention to these three issues and protect the environment, livestock industry as well as people in Taiwan.
