American YouTuber Xiaofei小飛 has been residing in Taiwan for nine years. He is a travel & explorer YouTuber who loves outdoor activities. Xiaofei小飛 made an impromptu decision and traveled to Taiwan. He did not expect such a small land that has splendid views of mountains, forests and oceans and each stunning spot has its uniqueness. These make Xiaofei fall in love with Taiwan and thus choose to settle here for so many years.

In this episode of "New Immigrants in Taiwan" unit, Xiaofei (小飛) shares his experiences in traveling with his friend Dave - the vocalist of the American indie band Pink Roses. They went to Ye Xi Hot Springs (野溪溫泉) for river tracing. They climbed upstream to Tao Lin Hot Springs (桃林溫泉) and the round-trip costs nearly 9 hours. Although they felt exhausted, once they reached the destination and enjoyed the hot springs, everything is worth it.
Xiaofei took Dave on this long trip for the first time Compared with the previous journey, Xiaofei said that it is more challenging for Dave because the journey back and forth is 26 kilometers and requires wading across rocks with height differences.
Xiaofei said that the river tracing is done climbing upstream, and this way reduces the resistance between the feet and the water. During the process, the two were as excited as children on a school outing, humming to themselves makes the journey more joyful and interesting.

Xiaofei and Dave arrived at Tao Lin Hot Spring after a 4.5-hour journey. Hot springs flowed out from cliffs, and the rocks became colorful due to the high temperature of the water.
Xiaofei found that there was a hot spring pool built by other tourists on the side. Due to the high water temperature, Xiaofei adjusted the temperature by reducing some amount of hot water and letting cold water flow into the man-made spring pool. After finished, they soak themselves in the spring pool and the water temperature is just nice and comfortable to them.

Lastly, Xiaofei said that traveling to Tao Lin Hot Spring enables them to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Even though the journey trudging through the river took them some time and made them feel drained, they still feel a sense of accomplishment once they arrived at the destination.
