[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] The theme of this year's Taiwan Lantern Festival is "2023 Light up the Future". It is the first time that the Taiwan Lantern Festival returns to Taipei City after 23 years. Four major exhibition areas have been planned, including 1 main lamp and 6 minor lamps. All 12 administrative districts of Taipei City will be included in the Lantern Festival exhibition area, and the Lantern Festival exhibition area will be spread to all parts of Taipei City, covering 168 hectares, with more than 300 exhibits lighting installations There are also 8 new immigrants-themed art lighting works in the "Original Exhibition Area". There are as many as 53 concerts, performances and light sculpture shows in each area. Stringing up the whole city of Taipei is like a happy Lantern Festival party.

"Original Exhibition Area," located in the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, features more than 20 lighting art works of new Immigrants, Hakkas and indigenous peoples are exhibited. 3 groups of new immigrant artists from the Philippines, France, and Japan are invited to create lighting works, and 200 new immigrants participated in the creation, creating 8 artistic lighting works, which became a highlight of this lantern festival.

In the "Future Exhibition Area", the landmark building Taipei 101 and the Taipei City Government will jointly perform the mapping show. The joint performance show will start on February 1, and the daily performance will be from 17:15 to 21:45, every half an hour. Three performance stages were created in Taipei 101 Water Dance Plaza (light source stage), Xiangdi Plaza in Xinyi District (future stage) and Warehouse No. 1 in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (multiple stage)

The Taiwan Lantern Festival is expected to attract a large number of people, and people who enjoy the lantern festival are encouraged to "take the MRT, take the bus, and not drive." Bicycles are also prohibited in these areas during the Lantern Festival.
