According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), the reporting for "Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens" will be adjusted as of March 20, 2023. People who develop moderate or severe symptoms of COVID-19 need to be reported and isolated for treatment. While it is not required to notify or quarantine those who have no or mild symptoms, but it is advised that they practice "0+n self-health management," stay at home while they are ill, and avoid unnecessary travel.

The Central Epidemic Command Center added that the current definition of "Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens" has been modified in light of the fact that the majority of COVID-19 infected individuals are mildly ill or asymptomatic and in light of the stabilization of the epidemic situation and in order to lessen the medical burden and the impact of the diagnosis standard on the general public. All confirmed cases are no longer required to be reported; only complications (moderate and severe) need to be reported. Mild or asymptomatic cases are not subject to required isolation or reporting requirements, and they will not be sent isolation notices or text messages.

Pregnant and postpartum women, people 65 years of age and older, people at high risk of developing a serious illness, and people with chronic illnesses are advised to seek medical attention right away so that doctors can assess their health and prescribe government-funded oral antiviral medications. If they confirmed as positive of COVID-19, this may lower their likelihood of experiencing difficulties or passing away.

Additionally, the automatic way of uploading test results for data from health insurance cards will be discontinued, and the reporting mechanism will be altered to either using hospital electronic medical records or uploading to the infectious disease notification system's website. Cancellation of the self-reporting method for confirmed cases, cancellation of the remote consultation services for home care, cancellation of the self-prevention measures for relatives of confirmed cases at home and foreigners entering the country, and cancellation of all other related services will be implemented.

The relevant information about the new loosening regulations for epidemic prevention will be on the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control website (輕症免隔離,邁向疫後新生活) The public is welcome to refer to it, and the public is also requested to get the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible to enhance their own and group immunity, and move towards a new life after the epidemic together.
