Tainan has launched multiple water play spots this summer, allowing visitors to cool down during the hot season. Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che mentioned that due to stable water conditions, many water play areas have opened, including city swimming pools and various attractions in the mountains and by the sea. Visitors can enjoy cool waters and participate in a series of fun activities.
Mountain Area Water Play Spots
- Datangpi Wanglai Park Water Play Pool (Free) Located in Guanmiao, Datangpi Wanglai Park features pineapple-themed art installations. In summer, the park’s shaded water play pool becomes a popular spot. It is open every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 16:00 in July and August. The park also has a pineapple-shaped slide, making it perfect for family outings.
- Sen•Breath Jorona Park Pet Recreation Plaza (Paid) This pet recreation plaza in Guanmiao is designed for furry friends. It has a large water play pool, expansive grassy areas, and pet slides. Pet owners can also rent pet life jackets for safe water play.
- Shanshang Garden Waterway Museum (Water Play Area, Paid) This museum retains a complete water purification system from the Japanese colonial period and is a national monument. The water play area is open from 9:30 to 17:30 (last entry at 16:30) and is closed on Wednesdays.
- Wushantou Reservoir (Water Park, Paid) The scenic area of Wushantou Reservoir is known for its cherry blossom road in spring and the water park in summer. The tropical-style water park is open from Thursday to Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00 and offers ticket-based entry discounts.
- Longtian Chacha Cultural Heritage Education Park (Paid) This park features an interactive learning space themed around the Chianan Irrigation Channel, with mini canals bringing in irrigation water for visitors to enjoy. - Nanyuan Garden Leisure Farm (Taiwan Island Water Play Area, Paid) Located in Liuying, the farm’s Taiwan Island Water Play Area has a unique design. Children can paddle small bamboo rafts on the water and enjoy water fights.
Coastal Area Water Play Spots
- Qigu "Tourist Clam Digging Experience" (Paid) This is the most popular parent-child activity in the Qigu Seafood Festival series. The event is held on July 6, 7, 20, and 21. The registration fee is 50 NTD per person, with a daily limit of 3500 participants.
- Tainan Ocean School Colorful Summer FUN Water Activities (Paid) In Tainan, you can experience various water activities including SUP (stand-up paddle boarding), dragon boat paddling, and canoeing. The activities are held at different locations in July with limited spots, requiring advance registration.
- Naughty World Wildlife Park (Water Park, Paid) In summer, the water park at Naughty World becomes a paradise for children. It is open from June 29 to September 1, from 9:00 to 17:00. The water depth is 50 cm, and children aged 2-8 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Xiaolung Cultural Park (Water Park, Free) The park has a water park that is open every Saturday and Sunday, making it a great place for children to cool off.
- Jingtong Luerhmen Holy Mother Temple "Temple Emblem Parent-Child Park" (Free) The water park at the Holy Mother Temple is well-equipped and features daily water performances, making it a great spot for family fun.
- Shuangchun Coastal Recreation Area (Love Manor, Paid) This area has a mangrove ecological park and a golden sandy beach. The children’s water play pool is open on weekends from May to October, making it an ideal choice for family outings.
City Water Play Areas
- Tainan City Council Fountain (Free) The fountain in front of the city council is open daily from 16:00 to 20:00, making it a great spot for city kids to cool off.
- Minzhi Civic Center Water Dance Area and Water Play Pool (Free) The water dance area at the Xinying Minzhi Civic Center features daily performances, and the water play area will open in July.
- Hele Square (Free) Located in the Central and Western District of Tainan, Hele Square is a popular spot for city residents to cool down. It is open from 9:00 to 22:00 and closed on Tuesdays.
