 Local governments are taking action to assist migrant workers during the epidemic. The Pingtung County Government set up the "Covid-19 Epidemic Prevention Information" website which provides multilingual services (English, Japanese, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, and Korean).

According to Pingtung County Magistrate Pan Men-an (潘孟安)'s Facebook post, they were able to reach out and assist nearly 16,000 migrant workers in understanding the epidemic situation.

At the same time, screening stations were also set up in various places in Pingtung including the Technology Industrial Park Pingtung Branch, Neipu Industrial Park, and Pingnan Industrial Park.

According to a report by the [United Daily News UDN], the Vietnamese and Indonesian information were translated by two new immigrants, Chen Pai-feng and Chi Ya-wen respectively.

Both are members of the Labor and Youth Development Department. Chen and Chi have been married in Taiwan for decades and both hold master's degrees and are employed in jobs dealing with migrant worker-related affairs.

Despite the high volume of information regarding the epidemic, both Chen and Chi do their best to present accurate information to migrant workers through their multilingual services. They both believe that it is important to help those in need to fight the epidemic together.
