The Director of Civil Affairs Bureau, Ke Qing Zhong (柯慶忠), stated that the change of baby bonus scheme is to encourage citizens to give birth and reduce their financial burden of raising children.

In addition, the lives of residents in four cities - New Taipei City, Taipei City, Keelung City, and Taoyuan City – are intertwined with each other.

Therefore, from January 2022, New Taipei City will loosen the restrictions on the issuing date of “household registration”. Parents will be eligible for the baby bonus if their household registrations are at New Taipei City, Taipei City, Keelung City, and Taoyuan City 10 months before they gave birth.
