In this episode of “New Immigrants in Taiwan” column, the Vietnamese anchor Stella (孫金清), Thai anchor Phum (陳勝泰), and Mandarin anchor CK (洪崇凱) of【Taiwan Immigrants' Global News Network】brings readers to the “AoDai Vietnamese Cuisine” restaurant located beside Kuang-Jen Elementary School in Wanhua.

The owner of the restaurant, Chen Yu Shui (陳玉水), told us that President Tsai has praised her for the Vietnamese cuisine prepared at the event of the “International Migrants Day” and said she would visit Chen’s restaurant one day if she has the opportunity to do so.

“Unexpectedly, Office of the President made a call to me and said that President Tsai would be visiting my restaurant with a well-known YouTuber Chien-Chien,” Chen said.

A dish is also renamed “President Pho” and included in the menu because it is strongly approved by President Tsai.

Vietnamese anchor Stella took a sip of the soup and said, “The taste of this soup is really exactly the same as that of my hometown. Ms. Chen, did you add the seven key spices? This is really the best I have ever tasted in Taiwan.”

Moreover, the anchors also ordered dishes such as Vietnamese crepe (越南煎餅), shrimp spring rolls (鮮蝦春捲), fried chicken wings (炸雞翅), and stuffed bitter melon soup (苦瓜包肉湯).

There are two types of spring rolls such as shrimp spring rolls & fried spring rolls. The spring rolls are filled with taro paste, marinated pork and spices and wrapped with rice papers. It tastes delicious without any seasonings, and you can enjoy another flavor by adding mint leaves and sweet basil. The food is so delicious that anchors finished three plates of it expeditiously.
