The Ministry of Education (MOE/教育部), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA/外交部), and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST/科技部) launched the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Award (台灣獎學金及華語文獎學金畢（結）業生傑出表現獎) to commend students for their outstanding performances in academics and extracurricular activities in Taiwan. In the 109 academic year (2020-2021), a total of 485 students from 72 countries, have completed their studies through this scholarship. 16 students were selected to receive this award. This includes 10 recipients of the MOE Taiwan Scholarship and 6 recipients of the MOFA Taiwan scholarship.

Sadia Rahman (珊迪亞), a student from India studying at the Graduate Institute of International Politics (國際政治研究所) at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU國立中興大學) is a recipient of the MOE Taiwan Scholarship. She participated in a program hosted by the MOE called Global Mobility: Hands Together (教育部大手牽小手計畫) where she introduced her native culture to local high school students. In this event, she talked about religion, language, food, and more. She also introduced Indian milk tea at the 2020 Nantou Global Tea Expo (2020年南投世界茶業博覽會). Sadia is definitely the best Taiwan-Indian cultural ambassador and she is thankful for the awards that she received. She says that Taiwan is a beautiful democracy and it is a beautiful island worth visiting. She encourages other international students to choose Taiwan when thinking about studying abroad. Sadia decided to continue her Ph.D. in Taiwan in the future.

Elon Bar Lev, another student from Isreal who also received the MOE Taiwan Scholarship and holding a master's degree in International Business Management at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU 國立中山大學), joined the dragon boat team because of his passion for its history. He even received professional training to become the assistant coach of the team. To him, Taiwan is like his second home, he treasures his experiences because they contribute a lot to his life in Taiwan.

Jonelle Renelcia Irish who received MOFA Taiwan Scholarship is from Saint Kitts and Nevis, a diplomat country. She is a student of the Department of Global Financial Management of Tamkang University (TKU 淡江大學). Not only was she excellent in her academics, but she was also ranked first in her department. Aside from being a teaching and research assistant, she is also an active participant in extracurricular activities. Irish presented at the 2018 Tamkang World Forum for Youth Leaders (2018年淡江大學世界青年領袖論壇) and the Taipei Model United Nations Conference (台北模擬聯合國專題)and won the "Best Paper Award" (最佳立場論文獎). She shares that coming to Taiwan for her studies is not only an educational opportunity but also a valuable experience in her self-growth and development.

To encourage other outstanding international students to study in Taiwan, the MOE has set up the Taiwan Scholarship (台灣獎學金) and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program (華語文獎學金). The MOE hopes that through these programs, international students will have a better understanding of Taiwan's academic environment. Furthermore, because of thiss, Taiwan's learning environment is more competitive and interactive giving students a more international perspective. After these students graduate, they will serve as important bridges between Taiwan and the world.
