The Ministry of the Interior announced today (24th) that it will expand the trial service for in-person applications for mobile national ID cards starting immediately. Citizens only need to bring their mobile phones to any of the 24 household registration offices nationwide to apply for a mobile national ID card at a cost of NT$30. This service eliminates the need to carry physical cards, allowing people to use their phones for online identity verification, digital signatures, and encryption services anytime. The Ministry of the Interior plans to fully implement this service nationwide at household registration offices starting November 25, achieving the goal of "carry your ID, enhance digital life."
