The Taoyuan City Government spent $8 million to construct the Xiao Wulai Skywalk. Its 11-meter overall length allows it to cross the canyon. In recent years, the viewing platform and suspension bridge with a transparent glass bottom have drawn a lot of travelers who want to test their bravery to this location.

The Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is home to the Skywalk in addition to other well-known sites like the Xiao Wulai Waterfall, Yixing Suspension Bridge, Yunei Stream, and the Wind Stone. On the Yixing Suspension Bridge, the movie "Seediq Bale" was also filmed.
