The "2024 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition" will be grandly held at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1 from August 2 to 5, 2024. The Tourism Bureau has specially set up the "Taste of Taiwan" themed pavilion, focusing on promoting the beauty and culinary culture of Taiwan, leading visitors to explore and savor Taiwan. The exhibition is divided into seven major areas: "Taipei-Keelung-Yilan," "Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli," "Taichung-Changhua-Nantou," "Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan," "Kaohsiung-Pingtung," "Hualien-Taitung," and "Kinmen-Matsu-Penghu," showcasing the unique attractions and delicacies of each region. Videos played on-site will display the scenic beauty and culinary delights of these areas, allowing everyone to know not only where to eat but also where to have fun while savoring the taste of Taiwan and enjoying traveling around Taiwan.
The Tourism Bureau stated that in addition to introducing regional attractions and delicacies, the "Taste of Taiwan" themed pavilion also features a culinary classroom and exciting stage activities. The culinary classroom invites professional chefs to cook on-site and provide hands-on teaching. The stage area will host food expert-sharing sessions, quizzes with prizes, and interactive gifts for the audience. Additionally, the pavilion includes a "Chopstick Flash Store," which showcases various chopsticks from ancient to modern times and from around the world, along with interactive games to enhance knowledge while enjoying the food, achieving an educational and entertaining experience.During the event, Michelin chefs will attend the Taiwan Culinary Exhibition, offering a culinary lecture titled "The Chef's Cooking Philosophy," combined with a cooking demonstration (Image / Source: Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications website)
This year's event will also incorporate the concept of "sustainability." Despite including on-site hand-made food teaching and sharing, the Tourism Bureau emphasizes avoiding the use of disposable tableware, preventing food waste, and using local ingredients. The Tourism Bureau urges visitors to bring their reusable utensils and to either consume or take away the food they make on-site, contributing to the reduction of global warming.
The "Taste of Taiwan" themed pavilion at the "2024 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition" not only allows you to savor various local delicacies but also helps you understand Taiwan's local culture and scenic beauty. Whether you want to experience hand-made cooking or learn more about chopsticks, this food exhibition will bring you plenty of surprises and gains.
