The National Taiwan University Student Association (NTUSA) has supported the "Mental Health Leave" program for many years in order to care about students' mental health and help them deal with the effects of psychological issues on their lives. This program allows students to take three days of mental leave each semester without having to attach a certificate of inspection.
According to NTUSA, "mental health leave" has been formally accepted by the NTU Student Counseling Committee. Students may ask for mental health leave from the instructor who is teaching the class that day via the leave request system if they are having trouble attending due to psychological discomfort or poor mental health. No attachments are required. The system will alert the school's counseling center to launch a counseling mechanism that looks out for students when they apply for the second time or take two days off.

The launch of mental health leave, according to NTUSA, not only raises the school's awareness of students' psychological issues but also gives students who are in need more encouraging connotations. It is anticipated that students would realize that everyone has the right to pause at any time in order to give their bodies, minds, and souls a break.
