According to The China Post, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC, 中央流行疫情指揮中心) announced 339 new local infections, 2 imported infections, 133 more local cases resulting from reporting backlog and 21 deaths on June 4, bringing the tally of total confirmed cases to 10,446.
The 339 new cases reported today include 170 men and 169 women with the youngest being under 5 years old and the oldest being over 100. They began showing symptoms between April 1 and June 3.
In addition, among the new cases announced today from reporting backlog, 57 men and 76 women were documented, with the youngest being under 5 years old and the oldest being over 80. They began showing symptoms between May 18 and June 2.
The China Post mentions, among the 472 community infections reported today, New Taipei City accounted for 227 cases, Taipei City reported 152 cases, and Miaoli reported 51 cases.
Also, Taoyuan City reported 11 cases, Taichung City and Keelung City both reported 7 each, Changhua County listed 6 cases, and Hsinchu City and Nantou County listed 2 each.
Hualien County, Yilan County, Hsinchu County, Pingtung County, Kaohsiung City, Chiayi County, and Yunlin County all reported one case each.

Meanwhile, 21 additional deaths were reported today by the CECC, including 14 men and 7 women. According to the CECC, the ages of cases range between 30 and 100, and their infection symptoms developed between May 15 and May 27.
They tested positive between May 21 and May 30, and their deaths were reported between May 27 and June 2.

Two more imported cases were also reported today, and both had submitted negative test results prior to entering Taiwan and are asymptomatic.
The China Post says, case 10211 is a Vietnamese man in his thirties who traveled to Taiwan on May 18 for work purposes.
He was tested on June 2 when his quarantine period ended and the infection was confirmed today.
As of press time, 7 possible contacts of case 10211 have been listed by the CECC and are all under quarantine.
On the other hand, case 10470 is an Indonesian man in his forties who arrived in Taiwan on May 14. He was asked to acquire a test after his quarantine period ended on May 29, but the results came back negative.
Due to work purposes, he was tested again on June 3 and the infection was confirmed today.

Possible contacts are still being investigated, the CECC said.
The China Post adds, as of press time, 10,446 cases have been confirmed so far, including 1,145 imported cases, 9,248 local infections, 36 cases aboard the Dunmu (敦睦) ship, 2 cases including and relating to an infected pilot who violated quarantine in Taiwan, 1 unknown case, and 14 whose infection sources are still being investigated.
Twenty-six cases were removed from the confirmed infections list by the CECC.
Among the confirmed cases, 187 people have died.
