In the United States, Stanford Center on Longevity of Stanford University is commemorating its tenth anniversary. The "10th 2023 Stanford Center on Longevity Design Challenge" is being held there. Nearly 241 prominent schools from across the world took part. Senior student Zhou Yue-ru from the Department of Industrial Engineering of Tunghai University teamed with two students from prestigious universities—New York University in the United States and the NMIMS School of Design in India—made it into the top three and took third place. Taiwan has never before triumphed in the Challenge.
“Optimizing Health Span: Living Well at Every Age”
Young students are invited to create ideas for the 10th Stanford Center on Longevity Design Challenge in 2023, with the topic "Optimizing Health Span: Living Well at Every Age". It is envisaged that the design team would develop fresh approaches to lengthen and improve healthy lifespan for those who live in adverse conditions, such as poverty, poor food, substandard housing, and bad climate.
They advanced to the final eight with the topic (2 Care 監測牙周健康工具的新穎設計) after overcoming prestigious institutions including Beijing Institute of Technology, University of California, Davis, and University of Pennsylvania.Photo reproduced from 許和捷 Facebook
Senior student Zhou Yue-ru from Tunghai University explained that she entered the contest as part of her graduation project and invited participants from National Taipei University of Education and Ming Chi University of Science and Technology to form a cross-university team. They advanced to the final eight with the topic (2 Care 監測牙周健康工具的新穎設計) after overcoming prestigious institutions including Beijing Institute of Technology, University of California, Davis, and University of Pennsylvania.

Principal of Tunghai University is incredibly proud of her and that she had opened up Taiwan to the globe.
