The Executive Yuan formally pass a special regulation that NT$6,000 red envelopes will be given out to all people after the Spring Festival; Executive Yuan spokesman(羅秉成) said that foreigners who meet certain conditions can also receive NT$6,000 in cash.
At the press conference, Executive Yuan spokesman (羅秉成) reported that the Executive Yuan team had discussed about whether or not foreigners can accept NT$6,000. President of the Executive Yuan’s (蘇貞昌) policy directive is essentially the same as the previously given stimulus vouchers in that foreigners who meet certain requirements can receive it. Regarding the date of distribution, the public must still wait for the Legislative Yuan to approve the draft before the government can begin to put together the budget, and distribution won't begin until the budget has been approved.
According to the revised qualifications for issuing stimulus vouchers, in addition to domestic nationals with existing household registration, the recipients of stimulus vouchers also include nationals without household registration who have obtained a residence permit in Taiwan; people from the mainland China who have obtained residence permits for relatives and long-term residence in Taiwan; foreigners who are the spouses of a nationals with existing household registration in the country and has obtained a residence permit; Hong Kong or Macao residents who are the spouses of Taiwanese citizens and has obtained a residence permit.
In addition, foreigners, Hong Kong or Macao residents who are divorced or whose spouse has died, and whose residence permit has not been revoked; those who have obtained a residence permit but have not yet established a household registration; foreigners who have obtained a permanent residence permit in the country; foreigners who are allowed to reside in the country, and have obtained valid identity certificates in accordance with the key requirements for issuing identity certificates can receive NT$6,000.
