The Taipei Service Center of the National Immigration Agency recently held a course on "Family Education and Law Promotion for New Residents". Xu Min, a new resident from Sichuan, China, was invited as a lecturer made chocolate cake coasters with participants. Xu Min used Styrofoam Glue to sticks the base and chocolate cream to the coaster in sequence and decorates with hearts and stars in final step. The participants turned their unspoken thoughts into gifts and gave them to their loved ones on the spot and to be romantic again.
Xu Min shared that after graduating from college, she immigrated to the United States and met her future husband who was a pilot through a friend. After getting along for a while, she confirmed the relationship with her husband on Valentine's Day. Later, Xu Min got pregnant with a pair of twins. The couple decided to return to Taiwan to raise their children and build a sweet family.
Xu Min also shared that though she and her husband have been married for years, they often chat before going to bed. Her husband always gives Xu Min chocolates on Valentine's Day and takes Xu Min to explore delicious food around at night markets in Taiwan. Xu Min said that her husband took her to the Lehua Night Market in New Taipei City and claimed to must try Taiwanese popcorn chicken. She bought a small portion of it and tried the honey sauce "Qilixiang" for the first time. In addition, the sugarcane ice with sweet and soft taro balls is also delicious and memorable.
Speaking of couple life, Xu Min believes that being affectionate is indispensable. If you are too shy to talk "sweet words" to your partner, you can express your love from a small place: take the initiative to massage when the partner is tired, take the initiative to turn the slippers to the front when one’s taking a bath, etc., Many small and convenient actions can represent care and love.
Su Hui-Wen, director of the Taipei Service Center of the Northern District Affairs Brigade of the National Immigration Agency, said that interfaith marriages require more patience and communication in to blend in with each other harmoniously, in that case, the family can achieve a relationship as sweet as chocolate.
