Immigrant from Vietnam builds a plantation in Miaoli, enabling her children to experience life living in nature

In cooperation with IC Voice FM97.5 【New Students Report For Sharing -We are in Taiwan】, a series of exciting stories about new immigrants in Taiwan is launched. This episode invites an immigrant from Vietnam - Li Yun Zhen (黎芸臻) and her husband - Yan Wan Zhang (嚴萬璋).

The married couple is the owner of a plantation in Miaoli County, which is named “Hua Shang Hua Zi Ran Nong Yuan (花賞花自然農園)”. Their business philosophy is to grow vegetables and fruits without using pesticides and chemical fertilizers. As there is no ecosystem destruction, a wide variety of animals are coexisting in nature and can be seen in the plantation.

Li Yun Zhen mentioned that the initial intention of establishing a plantation was to grow fruits & vegetables and share them with their relatives and friends. Unexpectedly, the plantation has attracted many visitors during the holiday to de-stress in nature. Through the promotion via online platforms, the organic fruits harvested in the plantation drew people’s attention in Taiwan.

Li Yun Zhen and Yan Wan Zhang have a son and a daughter. During holidays, they always bring their children for picnics and adventures in the orchard, and even build a farm zoo for them. These allow their children to learn how to be responsible for taking care of animals with love, as well as gain creativity and the ability to survive in the wild.

Besides, the married couple also makes use of the mealtime to tell stories and Vietnamese history to the children, hoping to arouse their interest in understanding Vietnam more.

“A family needs to be contributed by two people with mutual respect and tolerance,” Li Yun Zhen says. “Therefore, everyone can learn and grow together.”
