Thailand will be hosting the 2022 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit as the chair of the council. Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-o-cha stated that in the post-epidemic era, Thailand will focus on promoting regional economic integration & multilateral trading system, strengthening regional connections, especially the tourism industry, and maintaining sustainable environmental development.

The Prime Minister of Thailand Prayut Chan-o-cha attended the APEC Leaders’ Summit hosted by New Zealand through a video conference and mentioned that now is the time to build a post-epidemic future that will develop in a sustainable and balanced manner.
Thailand adopts the Bio-Circular-Green Economic Model (BCG) as its national strategy for economic recovery in the post-epidemic era. The BCG economic model will also become the driving force of APEC's priorities in 2022.

Thailand will turn APEC’s achievements and Putrajaya Vision 2040 into three concrete actions as follows.
- Trade and investment: Thailand will ensure that APEC remains open to all opportunities in 2022. In terms of trade and investment, it will promote the multilateral trading system and regional economic integration.
- Digital and innovation: In the post-epidemic era, new trade-related issues such as climate change, public health care, and inclusive development, digital technology and innovation will become key tools to promote and achieve these priorities
- Sustainability and participation: Thailand is committed to using the Bio-Circular-Green Economic Model to ensure environmental sustainability and promote long-term and resilient economic growth.
