In order to present a collection of great stories of new immigrants to Taiwan, the [Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] collaborates with National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior's podcast series [Culture Chat Room]. In this episode, Tran Ngoc Thuy (陳玉水), a new immigrant from Vietnam, is invited to share her thoughts along the way of beginning a business; financial planning, the competitive catering market, and other topics. She also talked about the wonderful experience of hosting the president in a restaurant with the audience. [Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] also compiled this episode into 5 languages including Chinese, English, Vietnamese, Thai and Indonesian for readers.

The parents of Tran Ngoc Thuy (陳玉水) like cooking a lot. Since she was young boy, Tran Ngoc Thuy has been inspired by her parents and has learned some of their culinary techniques. When in college, Tran Ngoc Thuy chose to start her business by bringing cuisine of home to Taiwan after coming here to study since she missed the Vietnamese food there.

After graduating, Tran Ngoc Thuy (陳玉水) faced numerous obstacles along the way of starting business, but she did not let them beat her down from running the restaurant. Tran Ngoc Thuy also praised Taiwanese people for their excitement and generosity. They have had a variety of fascinating and surprising experiences that have shaped who they are now. The current restaurant was made possible by several attempts and errors.

No matter how big or small, Tran Ngoc Thuy encourages new immigrants with entrepreneurial aspirations to fearlessly take the first step. Only by making progress are ambitions realized.
