According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Taiwan and the United Kingdom has inked a deal as both seeks to obtain reciprocal agreement, allowing residents of both countries to get a driver's license without having to take a test in the other. The agreement will take effect in January 2022. In the future, people traveling to work, study or settle in the UK will be benefited more from the reciprocal agreement.

According to the MOFA, the accord is the culmination of several mutually advantageous arrangements between the two countries, including double taxation avoidance, language study, and working vacations. Moreover, it will provide better convenience to drivers and boost people-to-people exchanges while boosting economic development.
