According to the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Maxene Magalona, a yoga instructor and actress, has finished reading a book that essentially discussed setting good limits.

As shown in her Instagram post, where she also included a photo of the book and herself enjoying a beverage, Magalona discussed the advantages of reading the book "Set Boundaries Find Peace."

She cited the book when she said that boundaries are wants and expectations that make you feel secure and at ease in your relationships. Relationship expectations keep you emotionally and mentally healthy. Being at ease when engaging with others also requires knowing when to say no and when to say yes.

As it is all about learning how to set healthy boundaries—a concept I had never heard of until just a few years ago—Magalona believes the book will help her "strengthen my relationship with myself."

I never realized that I could genuinely say no to the things that were not in accordance with my truth because I used to be a chronic people-pleaser. I used to just say yes to everyone and everything because I was afraid of being disapproved of or rejected, she said.

Although Magalona is aware that this is not something that is taught in schools, she still believes it is important to understand because it will keep us in good mental and emotional health.
