The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC, 交通部觀光局) commissioned the Taiwan Tourism Association (觀光協會) to build the "Time for Taiwan Online Pavilion" (Time for Taiwan 線上台灣館), which was officially launched on September 1, to tell the world that Taiwan is ready for foreign tourists to visit. Since the beginning of 2020, the world has been affected by the COVID-19 epidemic and travel is not as easy as before. It has also limited the opportunities for tourism companies to personally promote Taiwan to the world.

Compared with physical travel exhibitions, the online Taiwan Pavilion has the functions of both professional exhibitions and public exhibitions: For the business negotiation and communication needs of the tourism industry, the "Business Lounge" and "Conference Room" are planned for free exchanges and online B2B information sessions. The tourism fair will allow Taiwanese inbound tourism industry players and global tourism market players to continue to expand their business under the new normal of the epidemic. Except for the B2B function access that is limited to tourism businesses, the public can enter the Taiwan Pavilion simply by visiting to the website and they can browse and explore Taiwan as much as possible.

In addition, exhibitions of food, lodging, travel, and shopping businesses are based on the main markets visiting Taiwan, including Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, North America, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, etc. with 12 exclusive exhibition areas. This will allow foreign travel businesses and the public to directly visit the exhibition areas in their own countries, so that everyone can come to Taiwan immediately for a unique and safe trip after borders are opened.
