After being put on hold for three years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the "Young Agricultural Ambassadors New Southbound Policy Exchange Program" has returned this year and will be sending 24 agricultural youth ambassadors on exchange to Indonesia and the Philippines. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Tien Chung-kwang, there are close agricultural interactions between Taiwan and the Philippines and Indonesia. He expects that the visit of this agricultural young ambassador would strengthen bilateral agricultural talent exchanges.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that in order to improve Taiwan's understanding of agriculture among the younger generation, it will organize for agricultural youth ambassadors to visit local industries related to agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry and conduct on-site inspections of the current agricultural development status and business opportunities in Indonesia and the Philippines. Gain knowledge of the emerging southern nations and significantly expand Taiwan's bilateral agricultural cooperation with Indonesia and the Philippines.
Furthermore, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Philippines have signed historic cooperation plans in addition to memorandums of understanding and agreements on agriculture, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Tien Chung-kwang. Through agricultural youth travel, he intends to strengthen bilateral relations with these two countries. Taiwan's new agricultural generation is also brought up to date with international norms through the interchange of agricultural skills.
