(Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network) – The Chinese New Year is coming, for those who still do not know what New Year's dishes to prepare, may consider Turkish YouTuber Tolga Erdoğan's (Tu Jia, 圖佳) three dishes using Taiwanese native chicken for their New Year dishes! In this episode of "New Immigrants in Taiwan" (新住民看台灣), Tu Jia shows how to cook chicken soup with peeled peppers and pineapple, stewed chicken with chestnuts, and the Turkish dish "Tvuk sote".

Tujia has been in Taiwan for nearly ten years and is a regular guest of the TV show WTO Sister Show. His YouTube channel "Best of Taiwan – Tu Jia" now has 160,000 subscribers. He shares interesting stories about his life in Taiwan from the view of a foreigner through videos, hoping to make audiences fall in love with Taiwan.

The first dish is the chicken soup with peeled chili peppers and pineapple. First, cut the pineapple into pieces and boil the soup, while the chicken is boiled for three to four times. After the stock is boiled, first put the pineapple on the bottom of the pot, then put the chicken on top of the pineapples, pour the soup stock, add peeled chili peppers, Shaoxing wine and wolfberries, add salt to taste, and simmer for an hour.

The second dish is stewed chicken with chestnuts. First, marinate the chicken, add pepper and a tablespoon of sesame oil, soy sauce and Shaoxing wine. Tu Jia seriously suggests massaging carefully, so the chicken will taste better. Then pour the oil into the pan to sauté the chicken with chili, until it is slightly cooked, add carrots and chestnuts and continue to stir fry until cooked.

The last dish is Turkey’s famous chicken dish called "Tvuk sote", which is not only simple and delicious, but also rich in protein. Turkish people do not like chicken skin, so they remove the skin first and dice the chicken. Next, chop the onion, green peppers, and dice the tomato. Tu Jia said excitedly: "When we roast meat, we always roast green peppers, and they are especially delicious." Then stir fry the onions and the green peppers together with the diced chicken, and lastly add the tomatoes and spices (Italian spices or rosemary), pepper, salt, and a little tomato paste to add color and richness, wait five minutes before opening the lid to collect the juice.

Tu Jia showed off his cooking skills, using good quality Taiwan native chicken, which is perfect in appearance, aroma, and taste. In addition, Tu Jia did not think that Taiwan native chicken is very suitable for Turkish cuisine, and he also encouraged everyone to try it at home. Tu Jia said that even though he cooked the dishes, he will give a 100% if it tastes good.
