NIA emphasized that the people bringing pork products from ASF-infected zones will be fined up to 1 million New Taiwan dollars. If the individuals are unable to pay, they will be refused to enter Taiwan. If the individuals violate the regulations by sending or purchasing pork products from abroad to Taiwan, one can be sentenced to a maximum of 7-year imprisonment and a fine of 3 million New Taiwan dollars.

Most of the stores said they were aware of the relevant regulations on ASF, but some still thought that only meat suppliers cannot import meat from abroad. When they heard that individuals will be banned from entering Taiwan if they bring meat products along, the vendor owners mentioned that they would tell their relatives about this information as soon as possible.
Zhao Zhi Cheng (趙志成), the commander of the Kaohsiung Brigade, appeals to the foreigners and the public that do not bring any meat or plant products to Taiwan, do not illegally send any parcels containing meat products to Taiwan, and do not purchase meat products from the questionable place of origin.
