To take good care of immigrants, the National Immigration Agency (Nantou County Service Center) further promoted the rights and interests of immigrants’ children. NIA has paid a visit to Nantou Shiuhkuang Senior High School and an outstanding student – Liao Zi Chen (廖子宸) whose mom is a Vietnamese immigrant in Taiwan.

Because of her family background, Liao studies hard and even receives an award for the science affair. In addition, she was once a recipient of the ten outstanding Taiwanese youths before. Now, Liao is offered a place to study at the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), and her future goal is to work in the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd.

Cai Chong Fu (蔡崇富), the Director of Nantou County Service Center, mentioned that Liao’s story is very touching and inspiring. Counselors of NIA Nantou County Service Center then introduced the 2020 School Year scholarships (新住民與其子女培力及獎助(勵)學金計畫) to students.

For every 60 students who are immigrant’s children, the school is allowed to recommend 1 person to apply for a scholarship of NT$8,000. This can be applied through the school's registration system.

Cai Chong Fu also stated that the application for “Multicultural Creation and Nurturing Camp for immigrant’s children (新住民子女多元文化在地創生培育營)” and “Immigration Counseling Interpreter Training (移民輔導通譯人員培訓)” organized by NIA are now open for registration.

Those eligible are welcome to sign up on the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency Republic of China (Taiwan) and IFI Network+.
