On November 23, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that starting the first day of this round of vaccinations (November 25) for appointments made on the COVID-19 Vaccination Registration and Reservation system, local governments may provide the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT) or Moderna to individuals who have received their first dose of AstraZeneca (AZ) for at least eight weeks at healthcare facilities or local district public health centers each local government designates to provide the jabs.

This decision was made to ensure effective use of COVID-19 vaccines and speed up the rollout of the vaccines. Eligible individuals wishing to adopt the mix-and-match approach to vaccination, regardless of whether or not they have registered for mixing vaccines on the reservation system, can get their second shot at designated healthcare facilities/local public health centers contracted for vaccinations. Actual time of vaccination and vaccine brands offered may vary by local government, and members of the public are urged to refer to the announcement of their local government.
