  • Tourism Administration to open class for new immigrants to obtain tour guide licenses of Southeast Asian languages

Although the number of visitors from Southeast Asia has increased after the pandemic ended, tour guides who speak the languages of Southeast Asia are in high demand and considered uncommon abilities. According to the Tourism Administration, standard is set excessively high since the tour guide test system demands a specific level of proficiency in Chinese. In order to assist new immigrants in passing the test, the Tourism Administration will provide the "Rare Language Tour Guide Examination Training Class".

  • Foreign visitors may now get sales tax refund services at the National Palace Museum's Northern and Southern branches

The National Palace Museum (NPM) announced that, as a result of the steady increase in foreign travel after the COVID-19 pandemic ended, both the branches of the NPM will begin offering tax refund services to foreign visitors on October 17

in compliance with the procedures for tax refunds at ports and airports. Additionally, the NPM is now the first museum in Taiwan to give foreign visitors tax rebates.

  • Taiwan HSR to run 58 more trains for 8 weekends at the end of the year for the holiday travel season

Taiwan High Speed Rail has stated that short-term extra services will be introduced on eight weekends from November 3 to December 24 in order to handle the peak travel season at the end of the year. There are plans to offer more services every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be a limit of eight trips per week for extra services. Pre-orders for tickets will also be available beginning on October 21.

  • New Taipei City recommends 5 animal-shaped tourist attractions

The New Taipei City Animal Protection and Health Inspection Office, in honor of World Tourism Day, recommends five attractions on the north coast where one can view animal-shaped rocks. People can travel with their pets and take use of the local establishments that have "pet-friendly" sign whether dining or lodging, to ensure that their pets are content and at ease when traveling.
