The 2021 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF, 多倫多國際影展) unveiled the official lineup, and two Taiwanese films are being shortlisted for this year’s festival, with "Terrorizers (青春弒戀)" by director Ho Wei-ting (何蔚庭) in the “Contemporary World Cinema” (當代電影世界) section and "The Falls (瀑布)" by director Chung Meng-hung (鍾孟宏) in the “Special Presentations” (特別展映) section. The TIFF is hailed as an Oscar-winning outpost. Regarding the selection of "Terrorizers", He Wei-ting said that the epidemic has impacted the global film and television circle. It is fortunate to be selected at this difficult time, allowing the world to see the strength of Taiwan’s films. He hopes that after the Covid-19 pandemic is over, the public will return to the cinemas.

Director Ho Wei-ting said that he left his hometown to live in Toronto for 2 years. The TIFF was also the first international film festival that he joined. He still vividly remembers when he was queuing to enter the theater with filmmakers at that time. Because of his deep feeling of affection for Toronto, he hopes to bring Taiwanese works to this international stage.
