The rights of foreign students have recently been valued. Bureau of Labor Affairs, Tainan City Government, jointly cooperated with National Immigration Agency, went to Taiwan Shoufu University to implement the "New Southbound Visiting Care Service". Aside from dissemination of general laws and regulations, the dissemination of gender discrimination is also added. Also remind foreign students to pay attention to job interviews and remind employers that foreign students should not work more than 20 hours a week during non-winter and non-summer vacations.

Labor Affairs Bureau highlights that employers should check work permits and other relevant documents of foreign students when hiring them. Additionally, foreign students should not work more than 20 hours a week during non-long vocations; when hiring foreign students, employers must check and take photos of their original student IDs (to confirm Registration for this semester), the original copy of the residence permit (to confirm the valid residence in our country), and the original work permit issued by the Ministry of Labor (pay attention to the validity date of the permit and confirm they can work legally).

According to Hsin-Ch, Wang, the Director-General of Labor Affairs Bureau, Tainan City Government, that 18 schools, 6 public institutions, and 1500 more students have been visited so far since“New Southbound Visiting Care Service” had launched by Labor Affairs Bureau in 2019. In the future, the Labor Affairs Bureau will continue to cooperate with the needs of schools, enterprises and foreign students, and take the initiative to provide services.

Chang Shu-Chung, the president of Taiwan Shoufu University, shared the experience of handling the international special class for new southbound collaboration between industry and school, and thanked the Labor Affairs Bureau for providing the visiting care services, so that the school could take care of this particular group of new southbound foreign students. The rights of foreign students can be adequately safeguarded by laws and regulations with the aid of the government and precise rules and regulations.
