The "Muse Awards" in the United States was established in 2015. It is mainly divided into two categories: Muse Creative Awards and Muse Design Awards. It is a professional competition for people in the design field, and it is also an influential one of the international awards.

"2023 Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival" won the highest honor "Platinum Award" in the "Lighting Design - Art/ Interior & Exterior Lighting" project of the Muse Design Award this year and won the "Gold Award" of "Cultural Activities" of the Muse Creative Awards. This year's Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival takes "more local, more international" as the main design concept. This time, "Light dances on Lotus Pond" won the platinum award in the overall lighting design project. Chen Weiyuan (陳威苑) served as the design director.

According to Chen Weiyuan (陳威苑), this lantern display illustrates the blending of Eastern and Western cultures, tradition and modernity by combining ancient palace and temple structures with technology beams and musical rhythms. In order to give the finest lighting show effect and allow guests to experience different lighting visual experience from every viewpoint, Chen also noted that the main challenge this time is employing lights to highlight the general construction lines of the temple.
