Yilan's flagship summer event, the "2024 Yilan International Children's Folklore & Folkgames Festival," officially kicked off on July 6th at the Dongshan River Water Park with County Magistrate Lin, Zimiao's declaration. Over 44 days, the festival features innovative highlights in "water," "land," "air," and international team performances, offering non-stop excitement from morning to night. Friends from all over the country are invited to enter the park and embark on a multiverse adventure in children's games.
The 29th edition of the Yilan Children's Folklore & Folkgames Festival opened today, attracting a crowd early in the morning. The afternoon's welcoming ceremony included performances by the Nine Day Folk Art Troupe, Taipei Lefu Flag Art Troupe, Wujie Township Kindergarten, Lanyang Samba Art Troupe, and the Luodong Community Leader Samba Drum Team, along with this year's carnival street performance teams interacting joyously with the public. The opening ceremony began with world champion teams such as the Tiger Drama Troupe, Zhandong, Living Life, and the New Elephant Creative Drama Troupe, combining top performances such as spinning tops, yo-yos, hula hoops, iron ring play, and stilt walking circus performances, followed by the take-off show from the international professional highlight team "Cie Tac O Tac Bouncing Stilt Theatre" from France. Next, space dancers from "The Multiverse of Children's Games," along with County Magistrate Lin Zimiao, Chairman Zhang Shengde, Father Mikelin, and guests present, welcomed representatives from Burundi, participating in the Children's Games Festival for the first time, as well as teams from Mexico, Serbia, Slovakia, Thailand, and Lanyang Dance Troupe on stage, greeting in different languages, announcing the official launch of the 44-day "Multiverse of Children's Games."The 2024 Yilan International Children's Folklore & Folkgames Festival integrates four core themes: games, performances, exchanges, and exhibitions, incorporating elements of 5G and AI technology to introduce groundbreaking innovations in aquatic, terrestrial, aerial, and performance areas. County Magistrate Lin, Zimiao pointed out that the festival revolves around four core themes: games, performances, exchanges, and exhibitions, integrating 5G and AI technology this year to introduce groundbreaking innovations in aquatic, terrestrial, aerial, and performance aspects. Innovations in water include the novel "Flying Saucer Water Carousel" and the pioneering immersive multisensory experience "Space Landing Vehicle"; on land, the "Cube Paradise" introduces AI sports technology gameplay, "Time-Space Machine" spans generations and epochs in children's play exchanges, and "Fairy Tale Universe" delves into multiple microcosms of classic fairy tales. Furthermore, this year sees collaboration with the Detective Conan IP, allowing visitors to enter the "Multiverse Puzzle Solving" through their smartphones; in the air, there's the 178-meter-long "Galactic Glide" high-altitude descent across the Dongshan River, showcasing scenic river views. Performance-wise, the festival features special performances by world champion circus troupes, as well as over 50 teams offering diverse and rich performances, including highlight teams, Yilan County's indigenous people, and Taiwanese opera. As night falls, "Magical Light and Shadow Shows" and the tech-interacted float parade "Stellar Roaming" kick off a journey of joyful fantasy. The festival offers excitement from morning till night, inviting visitors from around the world to explore the "Multiverse of Children's Games" together!

This year, the Children's Games Festival introduces the "Awesome Car Draw" event with prizes worth over NT$2 million.
