To promote the “Carefree Covid-19 Vaccination Program”, National Immigration Agency (NIA), Pingtung County Service Center and Pingtung County Brigade traveled to Pingtung County Chaozhou Township Office (屏東縣潮州鎮公所) and encouraged foreign nationals, including undocumented migrant workers and overstayers are encouraged to receive the free vaccination.

The program adopts four principles including “won’t be reported”, “won’t be seized”, “won’t be charged for any fee”, and “won’t be banned”, and it will last until January 31, 2022. It is hoped that new immigrants and migrant workers can have a good time during the Chinese New Year with good health and happiness.

Chen Si Cun (陳泗村), the Commander of the Pingtung County Brigade, stated that to increase the vaccination rate of foreign nationals in Taiwan. NIA invited Pingtung County Health Department (屏東縣政府衛生局) to set up vaccination sites at Zhongshan Road, Pingtung City & Gongyuan Road, Pingtung City at 2:00 p.m. on January 18.

The service of issuing UI No. will also be provided at the vaccination sites. Moreover, individuals will receive a gift voucher worth NT$200 for receiving first and second jabs.

Huang Zhong Jie (黃仲傑), the Director of Pingtung County Service Center mentioned that African Swine Fever (ASF) is going strong worldwide and the Taiwan government has detected (ASF) virus in several parcels sent from Thailand.

As Chinese New Year is just around the corner, new immigrants and migrant workers are urged not to buy and bring pork, meat products, and processed meat products from abroad to avoid violating the rules and being fined.
